Programs Tailored to Each Specific Age Group
🥋 Preschool ages 4-7
For ages 4-7. Classes are 30 minutes long.
Sensei Michael is great with younger kids! He teaches in a fun and engaging way, and he literally gets down on their level to reach them!
The "Pee Wee Protectors" program of self-development is specifically designed for younger children ages 4-7. Students learn how to learn through martial arts training. Our goal is to develop group interaction skills, self-discipline, focus, and respect. Pee Wee Protectors also work on body awareness through balance and coordination drills.
Teaching kids how to recognize trouble and get away is another key in the Pee Wee Protectors program. We understand that younger students have shorter attention spans. The Pee Wee Protectors program uses interesting and enjoyable methods to keep students' attention while teaching them skills they can use for life. We believe in lots of praise, encouragement and positive reinforcement. The students are treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others. The instructors emphasize qualities such as confidence, self-discipline and control. At Budo Martial Arts Academy, we provide our youth students with the practical self-defense skills needed in today's world, as well as the personal development most valued by today's top colleges and companies. In an ever-changing world, our students know how to learn, how to lead and how to win. We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict by teaching students confidence, self discipline and control. Students also learn how to act and react to the world around them. Our young students are treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others. Through praise and encouragement, our students learn the value of setting goals and working to achieve them. In the Playground Protectors Class students build upon techniques and principles learned in Pee Wee Protectors class.

🥋 Teens ages 13-17
For ages 13-17. Classes are 60 minutes long.
We love investing in teens and preparing them for adulthood! At this point in a teen's martial arts journey, we basically run the adult martial arts program, but Sensei Michael still gives that personal touch of interacting with teens in a way that connects to their age group.
